Spring brings an end to those winter blues and dullness that you often find through the cold season. But as soon as it ends, you feel much more at ease as the sun starts to show its face more often and everything feels much fresher. With a new energy and enthusiasm for the upcoming summer, it’s the best time to make plans and have something to look forward to.

Spring is a great time of year to get outside and spend some quality time with your family. Enjoying the sun and the increased warmth, you look forward to the weekends even more so you can get out and about. Luckily for us, we have a bank holiday coming up at the end of May that gives us the perfect chance to make plans with our family and friends. With everyone getting that extra day off, you can treat yourself to a weekend away.

A long weekend presents an ideal opportunity to visit somewhere new for the weekend, even if it’s still in the UK. After all, with so many beautiful places on our doorstep, you don’t need to go abroad! Planning a getaway, whether it’s just the two of you or the whole family, gives you something to look forward to as the summer begins to roll in. The Lake District is one such stunning area of the country, offering a beautiful setting for a relaxing weekend. With so much to see and do, you can treat yourself to a real retreat away from your usual routine.

From hiking up one of the many mountains or fells, to getting involved in watersports on one of the 12 lakes, you’ll find something for the whole family.

With a list of outdoor entertainment, you can choose from abseiling, kayaking or even cycling depending on your abilities. Skiddaw mountain, overlooking the market town of Keswick, is particularly popular due to the spectacular scenery.
