Best Time to Visit Turks and Caicos
Most people visit Turks and Caicos between November and March, as this is the peak season. If you visit off-season, you will find that many places are closed, and the islands have slowed down to an even slower pace than normal. But if you want a truly relaxing break to do absolutely nothing, this is perfect. Just avoid traveling to the islands during the hurricane season, as the weather can get a bit dicey.
The Turks and Caicos were hit by Hurricane Irma, although not as badly as some other islands. Turks is mostly back to normal now, and totally open for business.

Like many Caribbean islands, the Turks and Caicos are very laid-back. Life on the islands creeps along at a very slow pace, and if you’re used to rushing around at breakneck speed, be prepared to slow down. A relaxing vacation on Grand Turk, Salt Cay, North and Middle Caicos, or Providenciales is guaranteed to recharge your batteries.
Popular Attractions
The beaches are the main attraction on the islands. There are some glorious bays and coves all around the islands. Grace Bay is widely regarded as one of the best beaches in the world thanks to its beautifully soft, powdery sand made from crushed coral and shells. It has a pale pink hue, and with the dramatic turquoise and blue waters as a stunning backdrop, your photos will be jaw-dropping.
The islands are surrounded by coral reefs, so snorkeling and scuba diving are popular. You can take your own snorkeling gear or rent some. If you want to explore some of the outlying islands and cays, book a tour and let an experienced captain guide you to the best spots. Long Bay Beach is popular with water sports enthusiasts thanks to strong trade winds. You’ll find tons of kitesurfers and kiteboarders along the coast.
Local Wildlife
The islands are blessed with wonderful marine life. If you’re lucky, you may spot some humpback whales basking off-shore around Grand Turk. Make sure you visit the Conch Farm too– conch meat is an island speciality!
