5 Hottest Music Festivals in Europe This Summer

Every summer, Europe goes wild with music festivals, bringing both renowned performers and the latest top chart scene together. It’s a tough choice, so you should look to get the most out of your visit to the festival.

Wireless Festival, London, UK

Festival lineup: Cardi B, Travis Scott, Migos, A$AP Rocky, Future, Rae Sremmurd, Tory Lanez, Lil Uzi Vert
Date: 5-7 July 2019

As you would expect from a London scene, Wireless festival follows the latest trends in the music industry and flashes us with a massive lineup of grime, rap, and trap scene hot stuff. Not many festivals follow up on this subculture that evidently dominates the music scene and bring mostly nostalgic names. This makes Wireless one of the truly alive and contemporary music festivals.

EXIT Festival, Novi Sad, Serbia

Festival lineup: The Cure, Carl Cox, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Tom Walker, Jeff Mills, Maceo Plex, Amelie Lens, Greta Van Fleet
Date: 4-8 July 2019

Exit festival takes place at the spectacular site of medieval Petrovaradin fortress in Novi Sad, Serbia. It still holds the first place when it comes to the ingenious mixing of high-profile and underground acts. All with an incredible location, world-class production, and the affordability of Serbia, Exit is still as great as its reputation.

If the four wild nights aren’t enough, the party continues with Exit’s Sea Dance sister festival on a refreshingly different location, down on the beach-side of Budva, Montenegro.

Sziget Festival, Budapest, Hungary

Festival lineup: Ed Sheeran, Foo Fighters, Florence + the Machine, Twenty One Pilots, Martin Garrix, The 1975, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Jungle
Date: 7-13 August 2019

This is another remarkable festival taking place in the Balkan region. Sziget never failed to bring the biggest names of the rock scene. It is one of the largest music and cultural festivals in Europe. It was labeled as a European version of the Burning Man festival for its unique features, but it truly needs no further advertising. The annual turnout speaks for itself.

Romania’s Untold Festival, awarded Best Major Festival at the European Festival Awards 2015, takes place in Transylvania just before Sziget, 1-4 August. You can also experience something completely different and try to catch the famous Guča festival in Serbia 8-11 August.

Hellfest Open Air, Clisson, France

Festival lineup: Slayer, Manowar, KISS, Tool, Gojira, ZZ Top, Dropkick Murphys, Def Leppard
Date: 21-23 June 2019

As the name suggests, Hellfest is not for the faint of heart. This french hard rock festival focuses mostly on heavy metal, and every single metal sub-genre known is permeating its pores. For those that like it dark and heavy, this is definitely the biggest and best of the festivals in Europe for your tastes.

Latitude, Suffolk, UK

Festival lineup: Lana Del Rey, George Ezra, Snow Patrol, Aurora, Chvrches, Underworld, Primal Scream, Slaves, Loyle Carner, Anna Calvi
Date: 18-21July

This is a more tame one than the rest of the mentioned festivals. Its idyllic and almost fairy-like atmosphere will be appealing to anyone who wants a little magic for the Summer. DJs hiding in the woods and pink sheep roaming the shrubby fields make up the scene for the clowns, actors, and dance troupes. The music itself is reminiscent of the woodland magic, along with the opera on the lake.

You can later head down to the Isle of Wight festival for a couple of more days, and for a completely different, relaxing experience, check out the largest online collection of seaside cottages of the Isle on Simply Sea Views.

We chose to present you with different types of festivals so you can choose the one that best suits your taste and put some additional thought to extend your experience to its maximum potential in hope that you experience an unforgettable summer in 2019.
