Summer 2018 is almost there. While some of you have already let off steam at the Coachella, others may still be looking for the place to have the best time of this year. Keep reading!

Primavera Sound, May 30 – June 3 (Barcelona, Spain)

Excited to start summer in Barcelona? There’s no better way to spend an early vacation in Europe, especially if you’re passionate about music. Since its very start in 2001, the festival has been a very urban kind of gathering. Each year, the music lovers can enjoy the performances of the artists of various genres and different generations there. And let’s be honest, the location is one of its major attractions.  Anyway, Primavera is one of the few places where it will be possible to see Migos and Bjork at the same stage, at least this year. Also, this year’s lineup will remind you of the last year’s Coachella. The sad thing is that the tickets are probably sold out already, but you can add it to your must-visit list for the next summer.

Bonnaroo, June 7-10 (Manchester, TN)

This festival was inspired by the rock concerts of the 60s and 70s. In fact, this is one of a few peculiarities that attract the audience to Manchester every year since 2002. The name is a slang, and it means “a really good time” in Creole. Bonnaroo has an exceptional atmosphere as it gathers the laid-back adventure-seeking people who come there every year to discover all sorts of new music. If you’re one of them, then you should attend. If you’re not, you can still go and enjoy that early summer festival vibe. By the way, the 2018 poster says that there will be not only the classic favourite artists but also a couple of rising stars, such as Khalid and Dua Lipa.

Wireless Festival, July 6-8 (London, U.K.)

When it comes to the large hip-hop gatherings, it is quite difficult to think of the one that would be as stacked as the Wireless Festival in London. During the three performance days, you’ll be able to enjoy the best and fullest roundup of the genre: DJ Khaled, PartyNextDoor, J. Cole, French Montana, Big Sean, Goldlink and many more. This year’s stage will be on fire, so buy tickets, come to the Finsbury Park, bring friends. They even have an official mobile app. How many festivals run such extra mile? This is not a camping event though, so you’ll need to pre-plan your nights and book everything in advance.

Pitchfork, July 20-22 (Chicago, IL)

As you know, Pitchfork is a music site known for their incredible ear for new artists. If you’re a fan, then you’ll agree that they are very eclectic in their choice. Unlike Wireless, Pitchfork doesn’t have a single preferred genre so you should expect to hear anything during this festival. It’s been so since the early 90s, and it is kind of a desirable specialty. Therefore, the music fans who want to enjoy the cult favourites as well as discover some experimental new artists are welcome to Chicago at the end of July. This year’s lineup is mostly a mixture of indie rock and R’n’B. Come to Union Park on this date; there will be music, art, food, beverages, and a record fair from CHIRP Radio.

Lollapalooza, Aug. 2-5 (Chicago, IL)

An absolute classic among the festivals in the US and one of the biggest local music gatherings, Lollapalooza host around 150 000 music fans annually. No matter which style you prefer, it is most likely that there will be at least one artist that will make you jump in front of the stage. The event changes locations, but this is not the most exciting thing about it. Lollapalooza is not a regular music event. It also hosts the dance and comedy performances. At the same time, the fest serves as a platform for a few political groups, non-profit organizations, and visual artists. All the perks away, one of the biggest advantages of this music festival over the rest is its totally starlit lineup: The Weekend, Bruno Mars, Arctic Monkeys, Jack White, Portugal. The Man, Lykke Li, Franz Ferdinand… These are only a few headliners. Overall, this is going to be the best party of this summer.
