5 Things You Need To Get Ready For The Airport

Going on holiday is such an exciting time, but it can also be quite stressful getting everything packed and ready. You are likely to have your suitcase ready and packed, but we are here to give you a few tips on how to get ready for the airport so the day of your flight is stress-free! Preparing these things the night before your flight will make the whole experience much smoother and more enjoyable.

Passports and Boarding Passes

The first thing you need to do as it is the most important is get your passports and boarding passes ready. Around 6 months before you travel, you need to check your passports to make sure they’re still valid, as this will give you plenty of time to replace it if needed. But, the night before, put them into your bag in an easy-to-reach place so they are ready to go the following day. Many boarding passes can be accessed on your phone, but we would always recommend printing them off too in case anything happens to your phone.

Airport Outfit

Next up, get your airport outfit ready. Whether you are wearing some of your luxury clothing as you have a meeting straight off the plane, or you’re going to wear a comfy tracksuit, lay it out to make sure everything is clean and you won’t be rushing around in the morning. Also, make sure that you haven’t packed the shoes that you will be wearing. Try to avoid wearing jewellery if possible, as this will make the security process quicker and easier!

The last thing you want on the day of your flight is to be rushing around for an outfit, as it is so easy to just pull it out the night before.

Put Liquids In Small Bag

If you are taking any liquids on the plane with you, such as perfume, hand cream, lipsticks or santisiers, you need to put them into one of those small, clear plastic bags. Usually, you will only be allowed 5 or 6 100ml containers filled with liquid, so you need to bear this in mind before travelling. They will also need to be able to fit into the small plastic bag. The last thing you want is to have any expensive toiletries taken off you, or to be rummaging around trying to fit them into the plastic bag, so you should get all of this ready the night before. Pack any toiletries you won’t need on the plane in the luggage going into the hold to make life easier!

Download The Airline App

Another quick and easy thing you can do to make your airport experience less stressful is to download the airline app. This way you will have all the information you need in one place, you will have a copy of your boarding pass and you will be able to access any updates about the flight that you might need. With an app, you could also potentially build up points through your flights to save money next time!

Weigh Your Baggage

Last but not least, make sure that you weigh your baggage the night before your flight and make sure that it is under the allowance. You don’t want to have to pay fees because your baggage is too heavy when you get to the airport, and you also don’t want to be opening your cases and trying to spread things out! Weigh everything before and if you are over, consider removing anything unnecessary or spread the weight across different bags.

All of these things will make your airport experience so much smoother and more enjoyable!
