The European Jewel in-between Mounts and Sea – Sintra, Portugal

Sintra is a jewel which is located in-between mountains and the sea in Portugal. It waits only to be discovered by those that are not afraid to lose themselves in the rich history of of the city, the baeutiful nature, cosmopolitan culture and the diverse food. But the thing that makes this city one of the most loving one of the travelers is the romantic aura that has been left by the authors from 18th and 19th century, pioneers of the romantic soul that celebrated the subjective and the emotions of the human’s drama.

The biggest Portugal realist José Maria Eca de Queirós is synonym for Sintra. Its romantic atmosphere can be felt in his most  important works – when Sintra reminds him of sweet peace of parks and forests – “delicate stand silence”.

Sintra is city of romanticism. A place for joy. Every single artist knew how to appreciate the magnificent architecture of this city from which they took inspiration for their great deeds. And the architecture in Sintra is really great. Here it feels like the time has stopped long time ago. Castles, palaces, museums, mausoleums, halls… all those objects “breath” in a unique charm which is so hard to be explained with words.
