Ljubljana – a Small Town With a Wide Soul

Go there where the clouds almost never gone, but the people remain positive. Ljubljana is a small town, proudly attached as a shining gem in the heart of Slovenia. This metropolis still exists, almost 2,000 years ago and testifies to its development.

Emona is the old name of Ljubljana and the place was known as conquered commercial city which barely counted about 6,000 residents.Тhen the city was named Ljubljana, according to the small river Ljubljanica, which flows through the town. Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenia and it represents a city of medium size. Ljubljana is geographical, cultural, scientific, economic, political and administrative center of Slovenia in which you can experience effects of many cultures. It was the crossroads of Germanic, Romance and Slavic people’s culture, language, manners and habits.The city fascinating with variety of architecture, on one side old buildings from the early 19th century and around them modern, urban buildings and boulevards. The life in Ljubljana pulses in that spirit, morning and afternoon chaos against silent intervals around. Ljubljana enchants with its balance, proudly stomping in rhythm and temperament of European capitals.

At this place you can visit so many attractions and almost all you can explore on foot, in one day. The square is dominated by red facade of the church of St. Francis. Triple Bridge is a symbol of the city and a masterpiece of the Slovenian architect Joze Plecnik. Many bridges in Ljubljana referred tourists to go again and again over them, while you see the rotation of different landscapes. Also, you can take a tour of sailing boat by the eponymous river. Each boat has a guide who during a one-hour drive will tell interesting historical stories connected to this town and anecdotes about architectural buildings. When you are in Ljubljana, you can enjoy wine, food, art, which popularity is probably influenced by the proximity of Italy and will probably remind you of the charm of a Mediterranean coastal places.
