Machu Picchu – Lost City of the Incas

The well-known tourist destination Machu Picchu is one of the most visited archaeological sites from all over the world. It is located in the Cusco Region, Urubamba Province, Machupicchu District in Peru. It is situated on a mountain ridge above the Sacred Valley which is 80 kilometres (50 mi) northwest of Cusco.

If this holiday you want to explore some new places, than definitely you should visit Machu Picchu. The construction there began to build since 1400 year, but a century later officially abandoned by the Inca rulers. These unique structures were known only to local people until the American historian Hirman Biegman presented Machu Picchu to the world. Since then, Machu Picchu is a very important tourist attraction and is already included in World Heritage Site by UNESCO and a great historical, archaeological and cultural importance which is considered a sacred place.  Lovers of nature and historical places definitely should go there.
