Prehistorical Marble Caves of Chile/Argentina in 10 Photos

One of the unusual geological formation on the General Cabrera Lake, Chile (Lake Buenos Aires, Argentinian part) are the Marble Caves aka Cuevas de Mármol. This is a formation from a calcium carbonate formed  in a period of 6200 years or more. Marbel Caves are a few islets which are great attraction on this lake on the border between Chile and Argentina. They have separate names, Marble Cathedral, Marble Chapel and Marble Cave. They are located far from any road and only way to get to them is by boat. Local companies are providing 30 min tours so the tourists can see the beautiful Marble Caves. When the water level of the lake is lower, it is possible to get into the caves and enjoy the beautiful azure reflections of the wall into the clear water.

These beautiful caves that are carved in marble are a real masterpiece of the Nature. Marble Caves are just one tiny example of how the Nature is beautiful and full of surprises. Whether you live in Chile or Argentina, you are visiting them as a tourist or you are just passing by, take some time for yourself and visit these amazing caves. This is a place one of a kind on the Earth and you should not miss a chance to visit it.
