Step back in time with the Schwerin castle in Germany

Schwerin Castle is a palatial schloss located in the city of Schwerin in Germany. Its wonderful location, situated on an island in the lake makes it one of the most visited and most the photographed castles in Germany. In the past the castle for centuries possessed dukes and grand dukes of Mecklenburg and later Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Nowadays the castle is the residence of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern state parliament. It is assumed that this amazing castle dates from the 10th century. Current view of the castle was made between 1845 and 1857, as a collaboration between the architects: Gottfried Semper, Friedrich August Stüler, Georg Adolf Demmler and Ernst Friedrich Zwirner.
