The geographical position of this city makes it for ages to be suitable for the influences of other countries. Also, over three thousand years ago Tunis witnessed the passage of Phoenicians, Romans, Vandals, Byzantines, Arabs, Turks, Spaniards and the French. All they have left evidence of their presence. Tunis has a Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and mild winters. Tour of Tunisia is the best in the spring, from March to May, with warm, but not too high temperatures. Summers are great for the beach, but a summer period in Tunis is high tourist season. So, you must expect higher prices and a bunch of tourists.
