There is no question that online casino pages have changed the game when it comes to casino gambling – offering a combination of great game play and total convenience. However there will always be casino enthusiasts who want to visit land-based ones as well. When it comes to those casinos with especially notable architecture, there can be reasons even for non casino fans to want to give them a visit. One of these examples of great casino architecture is the Adelaide Casino.

This can be found in that city, but it is not the actual casino itself which carries the architectural import. There is no denying that the ultra-modern refurbished Adelaide Casino offers quality gaming in a luxurious environment, but it is the old Railway Station building that houses it, which gives it the extra appeal. The façade of this building has been heritage listed on account of its architecture and the contrast with the modern casino is both striking and pleasing. However there are other fine examples of casino architecture in other parts of the world as well.

The Revel Casino, in New Jersey’s Atlantic City, is one of the most striking examples of modern casino architecture. It was designed by the Arquitectonica firm, and cost $2.4 billion to complete, but exudes luxury and sophistication. The beautifully curved exteriors of the buildings are made of mirrored glass, allowing the ocean that surrounds it to be reflected onto the building – while the highest tower (74 storeys) also boasts a light ball which you can see from miles away.

Finally there is the Tower entrance to the Narragansett Casino, which is all that is left of that structure, and which dates back to the 1880s. Although the Rhode Island casino of that name is long gone, the Towers remain a popular attraction and are on the National Register of Historic Places, in recognition of their architectural and historic value.
