Canada is one of the United States of America that is located on the northwest extremity of North American Continent. The name Alaska comes from Russia, and it was referred to the peninsula there. This land was in property of Russia but in 1876 it was bought by America. In 1959 Alaska became 49th state of the USA. It is the largest state of the USA.

Alaska is a place with many natural wonders. The mountain ranges, volcanoes, national parks, lakes, river streams and much more. Every each of them are unique. The land is not so populated by human, but for that matter of fact it is rich with diversity of flora and fauna.

The largest city of Alaska is Anchorage, but the capital one is Juneau. In Alaska, people speak English and the native language Eskimo-Aleut and Na-Dene. There are many official languages of which of course the main is English.

Anchorage

This is the biggest city of Alaska. It is also a municipality with 300,950 residents, which is more than 40% of the total population of Alaska.

Little Campbell Lake, Kincaid Park, Anchorage

This is a great point in the wilderness right in Anchorage where you can do many stuff. The hiking, biking, swimming paddling or floating and the fishing are just some of the activities that you can do here. And lets not forget that the photo ops is just perfect here. Juneau, Alaska

Juneau is the capital of Alaska. It is 3rd largest city after Anchorage and Fairbanks. The city is named after the gold prospector Joe Juneau. The downtown of Juneau sits on the sea level.

Mendenhall Glacier, Mendenhall Valley

Mendenhall Glacier is a glacier long about 19 km (12 miles) in the Mendenhall Valley. It is just 19 km away from the downton of Juneau.

Russian River

The Russian River is a 21 km (13 mile) long river on Kenai Peninsua in Alaska. The native Denaina people call this river Chunuk’tnu. This river is famous for its fishing especially for salmon.

Aurora Borealis, Fairbanks

Fairbanks is a city and area in the interior region of Alaska. A place that is filled with beautiful landscapes but also one of the most dangerous cities in all of the states in crimes. Like in most parts of Alaska the Northern Lights – Aurora Borealis are present and can be observed so often.

Morning Fog at Inland Passage

Inland Passage is a coastal route for oceangoing vessels through the islands on the Pacific coast in Northern America. The Alaska portion of this passage extends 800 kn (500 miles) from north to south and 160 kn (100 miles) from east to west. It is a perfect spot for kayakers and canoeists from all over the world.

This is a great spot to spend the day or to stay overnight. It is only 40 minutes away from the downtown of Anchorage. A best place where you can learn kayaking, ride bikes on the bike trails or if you are hiking maniac a perfect spot to have this pleasure.

Hubbard Glacier

This glacier is located in eastern Alaska and part of Yukon Canada. It is 122 km long. It is believed that the ice at the foot of the glacier is about 400 years old.
